I have often thought of Al over the 20+ years since we worked together at Kmart Pharmacy in Batavia. He was such a kind man, who taught me a lot of interesting pharmacy facts too! Please accept my sincere sympathy of your families loss. PS. Donna we still have the beautiful baby blanket you made for our daughter, Michayla, when she was born!

Being friends with his grandsons Mark and Matt, I met Allan many times over the years. He was the kind of man you could only describe as a raconteur. It didn't take long before he had you enchanted with stories of his past in the Navy, as a firefighter, or some other tale of youthful adventure. There is nothing in this world quite like someone who has pride in the stories they tell, Allan had exactly that.
The clearest memory I have of Allan was the afternoon Mark and I dropped off a riding lawnmower at the house in Albion. After a few small repairs and some elbow grease we had that mower puttering along and ready to go. Allan was eager to hop on and take a ride around. It wasn't until after that I realized, due to eyesight troubles, Allan hadn't driven in many years. The smile he sported as he cruised around the yard on that mower stretched from ear to ear. Being back behind the wheel of vehicle brought him so much more joy than we had ever expected.
Allan was a kind, gentle, and genuine man who loved his family more than anything in this world. He will be sorely missed.

My deepest sympathy to my best friend, Donna, Allan's widow, and to Allan's children.
It is a sad time when you lose a spouse or a parent. Allan was a very welcoming and gracious host when I came to visit when Allan & Donna lived in Albion. We had a lot of fun times at their home. I will miss him.
