Obituary of Stella Jamieson

BATAVIA - Miss Stella Jamieson, 96, of Batavia, passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2020, at Premier Genesee Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Batavia.

Miss Jamieson was born September 14, 1923, in Akron, a daughter of the late Harry and Elsie Sundown Jamieson.

She was married to the late Frederick B. "Freddie" Barber for 40 years prior to his death in 2017

She was a Inspector for GTE Sylvania, in Batavia for 26 years prior to her retirement.

Survivors include her siblings, Simeon Carpenter of Gowanda and Dolores Carpenter of Basom and a foster son, Eric Smith of Akron. 

She was the sister of the late Leonard Fitzsimmons  and Jonas Fitzsimmons.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Stella’s name to Volunteers for Animals, 3841 West Main Street Road, Batavia, NY 14020.  Arrangements were entrusted to the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 E. Main St., Batavia NY.
