Paula & Family,
I saw you yesterday at Rey's calling hours but did not get a chance to tell you what an example Rey was to me. He was my first "boss" & the best....his kindness to teachers & students , & community members was outstanding. I told my husband how Rey used to go out to visit all the homes of school aged children in the community when he "took the census."He was also so organized,,,carrying his little notebook in his pocket to write down teachers' needs & then working to quickly fill them...awesome! We loved his dedication & his wit. I will always remember the best boss ever. He was a treasure who will not be forgotten. Sincerely, Leta Sackett

I was a substitue teacher at Elba Elementary School in the early 80's. Mr. Campbell was kind and caring. He would ask about my family because he knew everyone personally. I will remember his smile and that he was a wonderful man. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. You were blessed to have him in your lives for so many years. Keep the happy memories of him alive in your hearts forever.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for allowing me the privalge to take care of Ray. I have so many fond memories of him. I don't know how many times he sent me to the principal's office while I was taking care of him. And he laughed about it. I will always remember his smile and his laugh. There were so many times we joked with him in the dining room and he would burst out laughing and smiling. Oh yes he had an attitude sometimes, but we laughed about it. It was such a great honor to take care of him and to meet his family. He always looked forward to Tuesday and Thursday when Cleoe would come in for a visit. She would sit so proud on his lap and go visit everyone.. I am so thankful that I got to see Ray on Thanksgiving day at the VA. .My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this time. Treasure all the amazing memories of him. I know that I will.

In my time at Elba Central, I remember Rey as a fourth grade teacher, and then elementary principal. Since I was at the high school level, he was not my principal, yet we were all aware of how much he was respected by everyone. He was genuinely interested in all his students, and was the perfect person in that position. One of my most poignant memories of him, however, was from the day of Audrey's funeral. I still remember how he spoke of her, remembering that the first time he saw her he thought she was the prettiest girl he had ever seen! It was so touching, and it was so apparent that they had been a very devoted couple. My husband, Dan, and I extend sincere sympathy to all of his family. He lived a very good life and is now at peace. Lorraine Rybak

Such fond memories with Rey & Audrey at our monthly Horeshoe Lake Road euchre club games. So many laughs with the Campbells, Beyers, Reeds & Acquinos. Several games were often played where we all forgot to keep score. He will be missed and remembered by many. Condolences to his family. Gene & Brenda EttingerPFbq7

I LOVED Mr. Campbell. He went above and beyond in his role as Elementary Principal. He was loved by all during his time at Elba. They just don't make school administrators like him anymore. My thoughts and prayers to all of the family during this difficult time.

Mr. Campbell was my 4th grade teacher (as well as my brother Jim's). He was a wonderful teacher and role model for his students. My mother taught at Elba as well, and Mr. Campbell was the elementary principal then. My mother, Jean Hare, had much respect and admiration for Mr. Campbell. It was an honor to have known him.
