Obituary of Darcia A. Barone

BATAVIA - Darcia A. Barone, 67, of Batavia, passed away Monday, (March 25, 2019), at her home in Batavia under the care of HomeCare and Hospice and her loving family.

She was born December 18, 1951, in Batavia, a daughter of the late Joseph Frank and the late Alice E. (Henry) Vanelli.

Darcia worked as a CNA at both St. Jerome Hospital and United Memorial Medical Center prior to her retirement.  She enjoyed spending time outside, decorating for any holiday and spending time with her family.

She is the wife of David Barone, of Batavia.  The two were married July 12, 1971 and enjoyed nearly 48 years together. 

Surviving along with her husband are her children, David (Tonya) Barone, Holly (Scott) Pownall, Marybeth (Justin McGirr) Stefani all of Batavia, and Timothy (Courtney Bobzien) Barone of Byron; grandchildren, Nicholas, Jared, and Adrianna Barone, Matthew and Kyle Pownall, Justin and Alyse McGirr, Jemma and Annamae Barone; sisters, Patti (Robert) Nephew of Wyoming, and Donna (Steven Belli) Archer of Irondequoit.

Darcia is preceded in death by her biological mother, Bernice Archer; and a son, S. Michael Barone.

Friends may call from 4:00 - 8:00 PM on Friday at the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main Street, Batavia, where Darcia's Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday. Burial will be in Grand View Cemetery, Batavia. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Darcia's memory may be made to The Barone Family to be distributed to Darcia's favorite charities.
