Dear Ro and your lovely family,
My sweet memories of your mom at parties, special occasions, and even the chats with her at her favorite convenient store will never be forgotten. She is so divinely special to be sure. Your mom will always be in our hearts...with her spirit for life and her never-ending love of her family. She is a joy and we will miss her. But we are also both better for having known her...truly a gem. Love, Kimberly and Craig

Greetings to all the family, especially Rosalie, Lucy, Frank and Peter from a first cousin of your Dad, my cousin Joe. In my early life my family (second oldest daughter Jennie and her husband Justin and six children) lived in the upper flat of the family home where Joseph and his two brothers were raised by widowed Grandma Andolina along with her grown family after Joe’s Mother Rose, the oldest, died so young. I have beautiful memories of those years surrounded by so much love and family unity. I remember the joy when Joe and later Pete and Hank returned home from serving in WWII to large Welcome Home signs on the porch and a family gathering and feast to greet them.
When cousin Joe brought beautiful and vivacious Lucy home to meet the family she fit right in and added her own joy to our family.
Years of lovely family picnics and gatherings most often at the home of Lucy and Joe made for a happy and secure childhood for me and my siblings.
Your beautiful and very complete description of Lucy’s qualities and what she meant to all of her family can only bring nodding heads in agreement.
She left much for all who knew and loved her to emulate.
Cousin Nina Sucato D’Arcy (and Sandy too of course)

To the Mendola children,
So very sorry for the passing of your Mom. We will never
forget our 2 poodles , Mimi and Pepe that were from your
Mom and Dad. Also all the parties at their beautiful home on
Nottingham! So many memories were shared with our group.
Had such a nice conversation with Lucy reminiscing the good
ole days. We know she is now reunited with her beloved
Joe and the rest of our group including my Jocko. May they
enjoy the peace and everlasting life that our Lord Jesus has promised to all that believe in Him.

Our Mother, Betty Galeota, told us on so many occasions that on one night at a lovely affair at the Mendola's on Nottingham Terrace, Lupo , the German Sheppard, ate 10 pds, of Italian sausage while no one was watching as quests enjoyed their pre-dinner cocktails. Apparently only Lupo enjoyed dinner that night!
Our Mom and Dad (Samuel and Betty Galeota) welcome Lucy to heaven!
Love
Mary Ann Galeota, Nancy Wozny, Samuel Galeota, Jr. , and Cathy Galeota.

Mrs. Mendola's obituary in today's Buffalo News brought back many fond memories of my time spent in the 60's and early 70's employed by Dr. Mendola. She was every bit the lady described. Sincere condolences to the family. You lost a treasure, but she lives in your hearts.

So very saddened with the loss of our beautiful Aunt Lucy. The precious memories that come flooding back are too numerous to list, but Aunt Lucy and Uncle Joe were such an integral part of my childhood memories..all the holidays and wonderful get togethers we shared. Aunt Lucy and her memorable rich voice, always had a story to tell that would inevitably make us laugh...Jesus at the well comes to mind! May you rest in peace, Aunt Lucy. We love you!

I’m crying tears of sadness, but I can’t help smiling in my mind when I think of my Aunt Lucy. I can hear the tales of “Jesus at the Well”, or her first date with Uncle Joe at the races. Her voice was rich with color and humor – and directness. ( She set me straight a couple of times when I needed it.) . I cherish all the memories of the Mendola's and the Andolina's together. I know the four of them are sipping scotch and playing Michigan Rummy somewhere in this universe, now that my lovely Aunt Lucy has joined them. She was a dynamic force in our lives. My deepest sympathy and love to the beautiful family she raised. Love, Nina
